Jennifer Garner prepares to shoot scene for new series The Last Thing He Told Me decked out in brown leather skirt and fitted black top in LA

Jennifer Garner has been hard at work on her new role in the upcoming thriller miniseries The Last Thing He Told Me.

Now about four weeks into the shoot, the actress has been spotted filming scenes around Los Angeles.

Based on Laura Dave's best-selling novel of the same name, Garner plays Hannah Hall, a woman forms an unexpected relationship with her stepdaughter as she searches for her husband who recently disappeared.

The series' custom department dressed Garner in a brown leather skirt, which fell to about mid-calf, and a fitted black top.

She also donned a pair of black slip-on shoes as she made her way to and from her trailer.

With preps for her next scene and seemingly ready to roll, Garner looked to have her dark brown tresses styled with plenty of volume, soft waves and a part in the middle.

Not long later, she was seen getting ready to film her next scene.

Later on Friday, the mother of three took to her Instagram page and posted a photo of a small deserted island.

'This feels like a really good idea,' she began in the caption, before adding, ' I'm wishing you love and peace this weekend and always.'

Fellow A-lister Julia Roberts had been slated to take on the role, but had to drop out of the project, which is being directed by Olivia Newman.

The mini series also stars Angourie Rice, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Aisha Tyler, Geoff Stults, John Harlan Kim and Augusto Aguilera

Now in the leading lady role, Garner is also serving as executive producer alongside Reese Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, Josh Singer, Marisa Yeres Gill, Lisa Gillan and Laura Dave.

Principal photography only just began on May 3, so it's likely that the thriller won't premiere on Apple TV+ until sometime in 2023.
